Webinar, 26th Janaury 2022
On 26th January 2022, 5:30 p.m. Ms. Pooja Tendulkar gave a seminar on Recycling wastewater in urban areas using biological methods. She started off with a briefing about her company Lemnion Green Solutions. She then explained what recycling actually is and its importance and some students pitched in with how they have recycled various things. Moving on to waste water recycling she gave a rough idea of how much water is being used and wasted on a daily basis by an individual and overall city we live in. She told us about when she started working on this. She started off with working on duckweed, she started experimenting with duckweed and found how much water does it take up. Later she did a project where she used Duckweed to treat water. She briefed us about her work at Lemnion Green Solutions and the ways of water treatment i.e. Duckweed/Aquatic System, Wetland System, Ecological floating bed etc. She also is amongst the first in India to commercialize duckweed aquatic system. The ecological restoration that they’ve done makes the place looks aesthetic and is also nutrient balanced. She mentioned how the water used for treatment can be later used for farming and gardening as well. She also explained how the water is rodent free and has no smell as there is always some movement in the water to avoid it being stale. Towards the end she showed us various projects, the initial condition of Saras Baug in Pune, how beautifully it has changed and there are many birds and animal species residing. She also showed us her Vadgaon project in Pune itself. She briefed us about her campaign “Roar for Mutha” where they are working for rejuvenation. Then we had an interactive session where the attendees asked her various questions and she answered them all very well. The session was then concluded by the Team of Ninox at 6:30 p.m.
